Annual Conference on Money and Finance in the Indian Economy The Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR) will be hosting its 11th Annual Conference on Money and Finance in the Indian Economy on 23-24 January 2009. Dr. Avinash Persaud will deliver the keynote address. Submissions are invited for contributed papers on all theoretical and empirical aspects of monetary and financial economics. Papers on the following topics are particularly welcome: 1. Commodity price shocks and inflation 2. Deposit insurance 3. Money laundering 4. Principles vs rules-based regulation 5. U.S. sub-prime crisis and its global consequences 6. Role of leading indicatorsGuidelines for paper submission 1. Complete unpublished papers should be submitted online, in Adobe PDF format, after logging in at http://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=mfc11.2. In case of any difficulty papers should also be sent to the following email address. Email: mfc@igidr.ac.in 3. The papers should reach on or before 14th November 2008. All submissions will be reviewed and the authors will be informed by 1st December 2008.4. A few papers submitted and presented at the Conference could be considered for publication in the Journal of Quantitative Economics or Journal of Macroeconomics and Finance in Emerging Market Economies (see www.informaworld.com/mfeme). Authors of accepted papers may be requested to act as discussants for other papers. Limited travel subsidy for authors of accepted papers will be provided (within India). The Institute will arrange for accommodation and local hospitality.
